Portland Adventist Elementary School
Portland Adventist Elementary School is sponsoring a Gresham Community Event. The School would like to present a Series of Road Races that will bring runners from all over the region to our city.
Non-Profit Organizations benefitting from the event:
Bethany House exists to provide a “shelter” home and services for single, expectant women and their future babies. We provide a loving home environment that offers hope, encouragement, and confidence to face the future. Preparation for a healthy birth and responsible motherhood includes well-baby care, parenting classes, life skills, counseling, adoption counseling, education and employment opportunities, and communication skills. Bethany House seeks not only to provide basic needs, but also to prepare women for productive futures. Our program’s foundation is based on Christian principles and the love of God. We believe His truth, grace, and power can change lives for the better in this present age, and for eternity. Our “motto” is that Bethany House helps by “Touching Two Lives at a Time…and Generations Beyond, with the love of God.”
The Mt. Hood Jazz Festival annually brings superior international, national, regional and local jazz musicians to Gresham in August. The outdoor festival main stage performances are augmented by smaller jazz venues and other artistic and cultural events. In addition, the Mt. Hood Adventures in Jazz series brings jazz musicians from outside the region to play at local Portland music venues throughout the year.
My Father’s House Community Shelter is a family shelter located in East Multnomah County, Oregon. We provide a safe environment for 30 families, a place families can stay together as they address their spiritual, physical, emotional, and relational issues and needs.
Since more than half of our residents are children, our family shelter provides a home-style atmosphere that encourages change, structure, and accountability, as well as life changing classes and services that are suited for the entire family. For many of these parents it is their only opportunity for a chance to get back on their feet.
All of our programs stress responsible living and decision making. We never do anything for residents they are able to do for themselves, but we are available with assistance, encouragement, support, training and prayer. We are a community-based and completely privately funded family shelter - supported by hundreds of local churches, businesses and individuals.

The events we have planned are for anyone who enjoys fitness and exercise. It is our goal to encourage these aspects in our children in an effort to establish a life long connection to physical activity. Along this track, we encourage every one of all ages to participate with a special emphasis on K-12 students. We will be catering to our young participants by providing them with a medal and gift bags for their participation. It will be a special event for all kids and will benefit PAES' educational experience as well!
