A Great Family Event!

Portland Adventist Elementary School in partnership with the Mt Hood Jazz Festival is featuring a variety of Run/Walk distances. Jazz Music will be performed along the courses.

Please bring your kids to this event. They will be treated like VIPs. The kids will be given a medal and gift bags.

Post-Race Party

Join us for post race festivities, which will include food, music and an awards ceremony presented by Andy Carson of KPTV Channel 12 Weather.

*The awards ceremony will be presented by Andy Carson of KPTV Channel 12 Weather. Please plan on staying for this exciting event! We will have awards for all the age groups listed for both Male and Female and the Overall Male and Female winner as well as the Masters Overall Male and Female winners. Many prizes will be raffled off to the attending race participants. Prices will be merchandise from some of our outstanding sponsors of the Awards Ceremony, including: Foot Traffic, Joe's Outdoor & More, LA Fitness, All Tri Sports, Hilcrest Sports, and Olympic Gym.

Parking

There is limited parking available in the parking lot at Gresham Main Park. Additional street parking is available. From the park you can drive 1 block north on Main Street and turn left on 1st Street, then make a right on Miller. Public Parking lots will be on your right for 3 blocks. In addition, parking is available on several side streets off of Miller.

Courses

Gresham Jazz Run 10K Elevation ChartThe 5K and longer events will be timed by AA Sports. Courses
The start and finish lines for all events will be in the Gresham Main City Park. The 1K & 2K Kids Walk/Runs will be a great family event, and run prior to the half-marathon so parents can run with their kids for a great warm-up! The Half-Marathon will parallel the 10K course until it gets to the 4 way split on the flank of Walter's Hill. From the 4-way the 1/2 marathoners will turn left and traverse up the hill toward the Persimmon Neighborhood. The course will come out on Regner Road for about 1/4 to 1/2 a mile and then make a left down Butler Road and through the Persimmon Neighborhood and then turn left on Hogan (242nd) Road. The remaining terrain of the 1/2 marathon will travel out and back toward Boring on the Springwater Trail and making the final turnaround just after the bridge over Telford Rd and the Springwater Trail. The final leg of the 1/2 marathon will travel back to Gresham Main Park on the Springwater Trail to the Finish Line. The 5K race course will be up and down the Springwater Trail in Gresham towards Boring. The 10K route will travel down the Springwater Trail and turn right on Regner Road and then traverse through the Gresham Greenspace over Walters Hill behind Gresham Main City Park and loop down Binford Lakes Parkway to the Binford Trail in Butler Creek Park and back to Gresham Main City Park along the Springwater Trail. The courses will be relatively flat except for the 10k and 1/2 Marathon sections that go up Walters Hill. (See accompanying elevation graphs). See the park and general area in MapQuest. Competition will be held in the 5K, 10K, and 1/2 Marathon events for the following men's and women's age groups: 12 years & under, 13-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 years & over.

Entry Fees

5K Run/Walk $15 by September 27, 2008. Late Registration is $20.
10K Run/Walk $25 by September 27, 2008. Late Registration is $30.
1/2 Marathon $35 by September 27, 2008. Late Registration is $40.
1K or 2K Kids Runs are only $8 for registration up to race day. There is no late registration for Kid's Runs.

Awards

This exciting awards event will be presented by Andy Carson of KPTV Channel 12 Weather. Awards will be presented, at the conclusion of each of the races, to the Overall Male and Female finishers, and the top Master Male and Female finishers. The top three male and female finishers in each age division will also receive an award. In addition, other prize drawings will be available.

Please bring your kids to participate - they will receive a medal and gift bag.
