Who: This is a family event as well as an event for serious runners. The 1K and 2K runs are geared toward children. Championchip© timing will be used for the 5K race for the following men’s and women’s age groups: 12 years and under, 13-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 34-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 years and over.
FEATURES of the EVENT:
- Jazz Music will be playing all along the courses and at the Main Stage at the Mt Hood Jazz Festival. The Main Stage will feature Cana Son from 9am to 9:30 and 10 to 11:30. Beaumont Middle School is considering playing from 9am to 9:25am for the Kid’s Run/Walk Finish Line.
- Jazzy Bagels will have bagels and cream cheese on hand for sampling
- Thumann’s – Portland’s Deli Best will provide a variety of deli meats to sample with Jazzy Bagel’s.
- Dave’s Killer Bread will have fresh 21 Grain and Blues Bread on hand.
- Starbuck’s will be providing free hot chocolate and coffee or iced drinks depending on the weather.
- Bob’s Red Mill will have Muesli and Sunshine Dairy will provide a variety of yogurts for a excellent collaboration. Sunshine Dairy will also provide chocolate and regular milk pints for Kids
- Chartwells will provide fresh fruit for post race nourishment.
- Chartwells will also, provide lunch items for purchase for all event attendees. There will be salads, a barbeque, smoothies, pizzas, and much more! Please plan to stay for lunch and listen to some relaxing Jazz!

- The course provides a tour of the beautiful Mt Hood Community College Campus and will stay completely on the campus trails, tunnels, track, sidewalks and parking lots
Q: How do I register for a race?
A: You can register in a number of different ways:

Q: How much are the registration fees?
A: 5K Run/Walk - $20 by August 9, 2009 (with Cotton T-Shirt). Late registration is $25.
5K Run/Walk - $30 by July 31, 2009 only (with Tech T-Shirt).
The 1K and 2K Kids Runs are $12 (with Cotton T-Shirt). There are no late registration fees for the 1K and 2K races.
The 1K and 2K Kids Runs are $22 by July 31, 2009 only (with Tech T-Shirt).

Q: What is in my packet?
A: Entrants must pick up their packet which includes their timing chip, bib, pins, T-shirt and goodie bag before the race.
Q: Are strollers allowed on the race course?
A: Yes. Strollers are allowed for the 1K & 2K Kids runs and the 5K Run/Walk only. Line-up for strollers at the race will be at the back of the line.
Q: Can I walk the various races?
A: Yes. Walkers will line up behind the runners at the race start line.
Q: Do you have Course Maps?
A: Course maps for all events will be available here soon.
Q: What will be provided along the race courses?
A: Water stations approximately every 2-3 miles will be provided. Also look forward to entertaining Jazz Music performed along the various courses. No food will be provided along the course. One First aid station will be positioned along the courses, presented by Adventist Medical Center.
Q: Will there be awards and prizes?
A: Yes. An Awards Ceremony will start 9:20 AM for the 5K.
- Each age group will be given 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes as well as Overall Male and Female winners and Overall Masters Male and Female.
- All children registered for the 1K and 2K runs will win a medal, T-shirt and receive a children's goodie bag.
- Many prizes will be raffled off to attending race participants.
- We will have Dr. Ski, Mt Hood Community College President, come back again this year to act as our Awards Presenter for the Mt. Hood Jazz Run.
- We will be providing some great raffle prizes such as Reflective Vests, Camel Hydration Packs, Running Shoes, T-Shirts, hats, Restaurant Gift Certificates-Typhoon, Olive Garden, California Pizza Kitchen, Sweet Tomatoes, DryFit Socks, Gym Memberships. This is only a sampling. Our Awesome Sponsors will bring much more to the event!
- Come experience the 2009 Mt. Hood Jazz Festival which will take place on August 14, 15, & 16. You will see headlining acts similar to the line-up from 2008: Benny Green, Joey DeFrancesco, the Mt. Hood Alumni Band, and Grammy winning Diane Schuur. Outdoors in the scenic MHCC Main Courtyard you will see FREE acts. Other activities include kids activities, great NW food, and much more.
