What: Second annual Mt Hood Jazz Run featuring Kids -1K, Kids -2K, 5K run/walk and Kid's Fun Zone.

Where: Races start and end at Mt Hood Community College; 26000 SE Stark Street; Gresham, OR 97030. Go to the 257th/Kane Street entrance near flagpoles.

When: August 16, 2009.

Who: This is a family event as well as an event for serious runners. The 1K and 2K runs are geared toward children. Championchip© timing will be used for the 5K race for the following men’s and women’s age groups: 12 years and under, 13-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 34-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 years and over.

Q: How do I register for a race?
A: You can register in a number of different ways:
1. Online at SignMeUp.com.
2. Mail In: Signed entry form/waiver with check payable to PAES to: Mt Hood Jazz Run, 4836 SW Western Ave., Beaverton, OR 97005
3. Day of the Race. Look for the Packet-Pickup and Registration Booth/Table. Booth opens at 6:30 am at Mt Hood Community College, 26000 SE Stark Street; Gresham, OR 97080, near the flag poles.

Q: How much are the registration fees?
A: 5K Run/Walk - $20 by August 9, 2009 (with Cotton T-Shirt). Late registration is $25.
5K Run/Walk - $30 by July 31, 2009 only (with Tech T-Shirt).
The 1K and 2K Kids Runs are $12 (with Cotton T-Shirt). There are no late registration fees for the 1K and 2K races.
The 1K and 2K Kids Runs are $22 by July 31, 2009 only (with Tech T-Shirt).

Q: How can I confirm my registration?

Q: What locations are available for race packet pick up?

Packet Pick-up & Registration Available At:
Hillcrest Sports, 2506 SE Burnside, Gresham, OR 97080 Packet Pick-up MHJR – August 14, 2009 from 2pm-6pm. Hillcrest Sports will offer 20% to all participants who do Packet Pick-up in their store! (Please pay with checks or cash at in-store Packet Pick-up. In-store registration ends August 14, 2009 for the MHJR for the above location)
Roadrunner Sports, Nyberg Woods, 7063 SW Nyberg Road; Tualatin, OR 97062 Packet Pick-up MHJR – August 14, 2009 from 10am-1pm. Roadrunner Sports will offer up to 25% to all participants who do Packet Pick-up in their store! (Please pay with checks or cash at in store Packet Pick-up. In-store registration ends August 14, 2009 for the MHJR for above location)


Day of Race, packets can be picked up at the race site, Packet Pick-up/Registration table/booth at Mt Hood Community College; 26000 SE Stark Street; Gresham, OR 97080. Booth opens at 6:30 AM.

Q: What is in my packet?
A: Entrants must pick up their packet which includes their timing chip, bib, pins, T-shirt and goodie bag before the race.

 

Race Information

Q: Are strollers allowed on the race course?
A: Yes. Strollers are allowed for the 1K & 2K Kids runs and the 5K Run/Walk only. Line-up for strollers at the race will be at the back of the line.

Q: Can I walk the various races?
A: Yes. Walkers will line up behind the runners at the race start line.

Q: Do you have Course Maps?
A: Course maps for all events will be available here soon.

Q: What will be provided along the race courses?
A: Water stations approximately every 2-3 miles will be provided. Also look forward to entertaining Jazz Music performed along the various courses. No food will be provided along the course. One First aid station will be positioned along the courses, presented by Adventist Medical Center.

Q: Will there be awards and prizes?
A: Yes. An Awards Ceremony will start 9:20 AM for the 5K.
